Various reasons for its development are:
Haemorrhoids can cause a Lump, Soreness, and/or Redness near the anus, pain during excretion, painless bleeding, mucus discharge from the anus and a persistent feeling of constipation – even after excretion.
Fissure is a visibly painful crack on the lining of the anal tissue. It starts by passing hard stools that cause a crack. This is the most painful condition, commonly observed amongst the young population. Usually caused due to Hard faeces, Surgical procedures like hemorrhoidectomy, Inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s, Multiple childbirths, Abuse of laxatives and ointments, HIV or Syphilis It produces a noticeable tear around the anus, burning and/or itching sensations in the anal area, hard and bleeding stool and intense pain during and after defecation.
Fistula is an abnormal tunnel between the anus and the surrounding skin. It occurs due to persistent anal gland infection, which results in anorectal abscesses. Fistulas can cause Perianal cellulitis, or redness of the skin, anorectal pain and swellings, pus discharges, fever, irritation of the perianal skin, rectal bleeding, painful bowel movements and foul-smelling liquid from the anal hole.
Varicose veins are dilated, enlarged and tortuous veins commonly seen on legs. The condition is very common, especially in women.
Veins have one-way valves that prevent blood from flowing backward. When these valves in the connecting veins fail, blood begins to collect in the veins rather than continuing toward your heart. The veins then enlarge. Varicose veins often affect the legs. The veins there are the farthest from your heart, and gravity makes it harder for the blood to flow upward.
Varicose veins may be caused by pregnancy, menopause, age over 50, standing for long periods of time, obesity and family history of varicose veins
It can cause concern like pain, swelling, heaviness, and achiness over or around the enlarged veins, sometime swelling and discoloration. In severe cases, the veins can bleed significantly, and ulcers and clots can form if not treated.
A combination of medicine, panchakarma, rektamoksha( including siravyadha and jalookavacharanam), yoga, diet and lifestyle modification can help both varicose veins and ulcers.
There are different types of arthritis with different causes and treatment methods. Arthritis is a condition in which both inflammatory and degenerative lesions of a single joint or multiple joints occur.
It is most commonly seen in adults, more common in women over the age of 65. However, it can also develop in the younger population.
Two of the most common types are Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Symptoms of arthritis usually develop over time, but they may also appear suddenly. They include joint pain, morning stiffness, swelling, decreased range of motion and sometimes redness of skin around the joint. Tiredness and loss of appetite are also seen in Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative, progressive disease most commonly of the knee joint that may eventually lead to disability. It is common in elderly women and men occuring due to wear and tear. It produces symptoms like stiffness of the joints, swelling and pain after prolonged sitting or resting.
